Air Conduit Disinfectors Using Ultraviolet C-band Light-Emitting Diodes’

Bolb, Inc. is pleased to share the IOSR-JEEE published White Paper ’Air Conduit Disinfectors Using Ultraviolet C-band Light-Emitting Diodes’ within the HVAC community.

Airborne transmission of respiratory viruses have caused wide spread pandemics. To understand the effectiveness of using ultraviolet (UV) C-band light for indoor air disinfection, we analyzed UV light dose delivery to air and other fluids in conduit disinfectors. This paper is helpful for electrical and mechanical engineers to evaluate UVC-LED power requirements in conjunction with air velocity and targeted log reduction rates, also to determine if HEPA filtration could be dismissed while using more permeable filter that dramatically reduce air resistance, resulting in a quieter and more energy-efficient air handling systems that are efficacious against pathogens and finally but most importantly, that Bolb’s UVC-LEDs can displace Mercury UV lamps already today by choosing the right system design architecture.
